When creating a film it is important to think about the audience that will be interested and how they will be attracted to the film. The target audience is called the demographic.
Age
The normal age group for horror films is from around 14-15 onwards. A wide
range of people enjoy the romance genre however there may be some age restrictions depending on the content so for example if there is sex and alcohol they may put an age restriction on for 15 or 18 years old. We feel that we will be able to target people aged 14-15 onwards as the content wont be sexual or inappropriate.
Ethnic groups
The main target audience for the romance genre would be white ethnic groups as normally the main characters are in white ethnicity. The ethnic minorities usually play the roles of the comical friend and not actually involved in the romance story and this may be why they aren't as interested in this genre.

The normal target gender for the romance genre is female as they enjoy the love and romance
element as opposed to the gore and violence shown in other genres such as horror. Males do view romance films maybe if they are with their partners or friends or some males do enjoy the romance genre especially if its partnered with the comedy genre. But mainly the audience consists of females.
