An effective romance trailer should show the storyline to the audience without revealing to much information that it ruins the movie. The trailer should introduce the main characters for the story showing the relationships they will have within the film. It should then show key parts of the film without showing the conclusion but the build up and how this will impact on their lives. A good trailer will leave you wanting to view the film and find out more of the story so it should leave a mystery for the audience.
If a trailer gives away to much of the information then it will put the audience of from going to see it and this will loose the film money so its important to keep the mystery element. The trailer should include a wide range of locations to show the film as a whole and not just certain scenes.
It should also give an insight in to the genre allowing the audience to understand what sort of film they will be going to watch and this will then enable them to see if its a film they will like.
The other important aspect of the trailer is music as this can help build up the atmosphere and show the romance element with the correct song. The music should also be parralell as this will add to the atmosphere as opposed to ruining it.
